Carl Valimont Scholarship

Carl Valimont Scholarship

The Arrowhead Hockey Blue Line Club recognizes Carl Valimont for the years he gave to hockey here at Arrowhead and for being a part of developing strong young men. Carl is well known for his success on the ice and the sportsmanship exhibited by the athletes under his coaching, but his contribution have gone beyond that by mentoring our boys on how to be better, more successful citizens. Very few of our boys will be lucky enough to play hockey at a higher level, but the lessons in life they learn from their experience competing here at Arrowhead in both academics and athletics will help them to navigate through the many challenges that lie ahead.

In recognition of all that Carl accomplished for the Arrowhead Boys Hockey program, the Arrowhead High School Blue Line Club (BLC) has established the Carl Valimont Scholarship in the amount of $500 (one-time award) to be awarded annually to the student Scholar-Athlete that best exemplifies the personal standards and accomplishments which are positive models for others, and exhibits high levels of integrity and honesty both on the ice and in the classroom. The scholar-athlete recipient is chosen by the coaching staff based on the following criteria:

        1. Be a graduating senior

        2. Have competed at the VARSITY level in boys hockey for at least two (2) years

        3. Must have a grade-point average of at least 3.20 (cumulative) on a 4.0 scale

        4. Exemplary record of positive athletic and non-athletic leadership (evidence to be submitted on application)

Recipients of the Carl Valimont Scholar-Athlete award will be recognized at senior night or the awards banquet and publicly with a commemorative plaque that is prominently displayed in the lobby of the Howard G Mullett Ice Arena.
